Manning Wins AP NFL MVP Award

As the Colts get ready for their wild card playoff game vs the Chargers on Saturday night in San Diego, they got some good news today, as QB Peyton Manning was named the NFL MVP by the The Associated Press.

Winning the award for the third time for Manning ties him with Brett Favre as the only players in that elite category. The Colts quarterback was a landslide winner Friday in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the NFL.

With a QB rating this season of 95.0, Manning has thrown for 4002 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He has led the Colts from a 3-4 record after a loss to the Titans on October 27th to 12 straight wins.

Manning also was the league MVP in 2003, when he shared it with Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair, and in 2004.
