Third-year offensive tackle Tony Ugoh has heard the talk from people outside of the Colts organization, questioning his toughness and his ability to play through injuries. But heading into the 2009 season, Ugoh — who took over the hot seat position of left offensive tackle from retired veteran Tarik Glenn as a rookie — is prepared to show everybody that the team did not make a mistake in making him a second-round draft pick in 2007. “I’m expecting a pretty big jump,” Ugoh said recently. “The only thing I can do is just keep working every day, like I’ve been doing, trying to get better.”
