Painter Looks to See Considerable Time in First Preseason Game

With Jim Sorgi out for the time being former Purdue Quarterback Curtis Painter looks to see considerable time during the Colts first preseason game against the Vikings on Friday. Sorgi will miss two to three weeks with a hamstring injury. With Peyton Manning not expected to play much, Painter looks to play a considerable amount. Next in line on the depth chart is Boston College alum Chris Crane, who was signed by the Colts as a free agent in May, released in July, and then resigned again on August 10th.

Painter, who threw for over 11,000 yards and 67 touchdowns at Purdue was also a star for Lincoln High School in Vincennes, Indiana after moving there from Ohio as a freshman. Crane, a native of Pennsylvania, threw for nearly 2000 yards in 22 games and complied a 106.9 passer rating in four years at Boston College.
