Vinatieri On Hot Seat?

From ESPN:

In 2009, the Indianapolis Colts lost Adam Vinatieri to injury for several weeks, and replaced him with fellow cagey veteran Matt Stover. Stover’s gone now, but the team brought in undrafted rookie Brett Swenson, who kicked for Michigan State in 2009. So, a reader of the ESPN AFC South blog wondered, is Vinatieri’s job security in peril once again?

Not exactly, per that blog’s author Paul Kuharsky. However, “if they like the kid and Vinatieri isn’t solid through camp and healthy coming out of it, it’s possible they’d make a change.” Still, as Kuharsky notes, “it’s hard to turn things over to a kid.” Especially if he’s not a second-round draftee like Mike Nugent.
