NFL Rumor Mill: Westbrook To ‘Skins? Pierce To Cards? Russell To Cincy?

Brian Westbrook

It appears that Brian Westbrook may pair up with a former teammate again.

The Washington Redskins are reported to have interest in the former Philadelphia Eagles star running back. When injuries struck, Westbrook was released.

Now if the Redskins sign him, he can re-unite with Donovan McNabb. There’s already two other backs on the roster with Larry Johnson and Clinton Portis.

Westbrook will probably add depth then.

Here’s what ESPN’s Matt Mosley has to say about this:

“Perhaps this is simply a courtesy call to appease McNabb, who reportedly lobbied for the Skins to sign Terrell Owens earlier this offseason. If that’s the case, it’s a pretty revealing statement about how much power McNabb is wielding at Redskins Park. There’s also the chance that Shanahan didn’t like what he saw from one of his former Pro Bowlers during two recent minicamps and decided he needed backup.”

Antonio Pierce

Pierce has recently been released by the New York Giants.

But luck has come up for him and a couple teams are showing some interest in him.

Only two come to mind, though. Both in the NFC West: The Arizona Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams.

It was said if Pierce were to go to the Rams, he would serve as a back-up. Don’t know about the Cardinals.

Don’t worry, I think he’ll be signed in no time.

JaMarcus Russell

Chad OchoCinco pretty much let stuff slip when he said on Twitter: “You coming to minicamp?” or something along those lines.

But Adam Schefter reported that the Bengals just called Russell. Either way, I think Russell is going there.

Have a fun time with No. 85, J-Russ. Also, you can be mentored by Carson Palmer…
