Here is something I read from ESPN’s rumor central:
The ground game for the Indianapolis Colts seems to be more of a distraction from the highly-potent aerial attack than anything else; however, the team’s failures in third-and-short situations in 2009 has been lamented frequently this offseason, so the backfield hasn’t been forgotten entirely.
In fact, within his breakdown of the Top 10 questions for the Colts this summer, John Oehser of Indy Football Report wonders whether Donald Brown will jump ahead of Joseph Addai in the running back rotation. Brown has had some issues in pass protection, but appears to have star potential if he can improve his game heading into 2010. Addai has been brilliant in stretches, but inconsistent.
There might not be an answer to this one, as the Colts could just continue to rotate the two backs this season.
