Gill to Miss Season with Apparent Addiction to Alcohol

The season is over for John Gill, as he was arrested a 2nd time for public intoxication in less than a year, and will have to go to treatment to get over his addiction to alcohol:

A second arrest for public intoxication in less than a year and an apparent addiction to alcohol likely has ended John Gill’s second season with the Indianapolis Colts. Team president Bill Polian said Monday he anticipated Gill would be placed on one of the NFL’s “reserve” lists, once it was determined which list was appropriate. That move would likely end Gill’s season. The 6-3, 302-pound defensive tackle from Northwestern was arrested for public intoxication early Sunday morning in the 3600 block of Lafayette Road. The charges were later dropped. A police spokesman revealed a similar situation involving Gill on Sept. 15, 2009, with Gill also arrested for public intoxication, but not charged. “He’s got a problem clearly that unfortunately many Americans are familiar with, either in their family or the workplace,” Polian said. “So, the No. 1 priority for him is to get treatment and we’re in that process right now.
