Indianapolis Colts 2010 Training Camp: Dallas Clark Leaves Practice with Injury

Many injuries have stuck the Indianapolis Colts, especially their offensive line. Now they lost a key component to their successful offense as tight end Dallas Clark left Friday’s training camp practice with a leg injury. He was unable to finish a workout due to the injury as something happened to his leg when he was running a passing route. No comment has reportedly been said.

Clark caught a pass back in the end zone and made stutter-steps in order to make sure he was in-bounds. But when he got up, he it didn’t look so good and there was an injury. He was flexing his left leg and was immediately then met by the team trainer to help the Pro-Bowler out.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the injury might as well be considered minor but it might change until further notice otherwise. A lot of non-appearances and injuries have happened. Pro-Bowl center Jeff Saturday could miss up to six weeks, offensive lineman Charlie Johnson wasn’t seen this week, offensive lineman Jacques McClendon wasn’t seen this week as well, and Anthony Gonzalez missed some practices this week and was not seen yesterday.

Heat Taking Over

A lot of heat has been coming over Anderson University. It came again during yesterday’s practice as temperatures hit up to 94 degrees. It was worse since the team had a two-hour, full-pads practice. The heat index hit up 109 and the humidity was at 58.

Brock Wants Peyton

Raheem Brock was released by the Colts this off-season but he brought a lot of success to Indy’s defensive line. Now he just got signed by the team’s rival, the Tennessee Titans. Brock is happy because he finally gets to have a chance to get a sack laid on quarterback Peyton Manning.

“I can finally touch him,” Brock said. “I will definitely be trying to get a hit on him.”

We’ll see how that goes.

Tuihalamaka Comes Up Big

The play of day according to came on a pass by back-up quarterback Tom Brandstater. Brandstater is competing for a roster spot on the team, but this play doesn’t help him very much. Brandstater threw a pass straight to wide receiver Blair White. Then came safety Jamie Silva, who tipped the pass. Out of nowhere came Vuna Tuihalamaka, who caught the tipped ball as the linebacker got an interception. It was an interesting play and the Colts may keep a stronger eye on him.

Some Colts May Not Play Against the 49ers

According to Indy Star, eight Colts’ players were ruled out of tomorrow’s pre-season Week One game against the San Francisco 49ers. Head coach Jim Caldwell said that Bob Sanders’ chances of playing in that game are very slim. This is also possible for defensive end Dwight Freeney and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez. Other players include Dallas Clark, Keyunta Dawson, Clint Session, Pierre Garcon, Ramon Humber, Charlie Johnson, Jeff Saturday, and Jacques McClendon.
