Colts ink RB Javarris James off Skins practice squad

The Colts have signed rookie running back Javarris James off the Redskins’ practice squad, the Washington Post reports. Veteran linebacker Tyjuan Hagler has been released.

James, the cousin of former Colts running back Edgerrin James, is an undrafted free agent from Miami. The 6-0, 215-pounder led the Colts with 85 yards rushing, and added six receptions for 28 yards during the pre-season.

James spent the early part of the season on the New England Patriots’ practice squad before joining the Redskins earlier this week. By being signed off a practice squad, James is guaranteed to earn three game checks, worth $18,824 apiece.
