Colts lack of depth at DT could come back to hurt them later on

Pro Football Weekly talks about the latest issues with the Colts and that their depth at DT may come back to haunt them later on:

While injuries to high-profile offensive players grabbed most of the headlines during the Colts’ bye week, the loss of DT Antonio Johnson, who is out indefinitely after undergoing knee surgery, also could loom large. The Colts have not gotten the same production from the DT position that they did in 2009, and opponents have had success running right at them. Johnson lost his starting job to 2009 second-round pick Fili Moala, but word is he was coming on strong and proving to be a valuable rotational player at a position where the Colts do not have great depth. In Johnson’s absence, rookie seventh-rounder Ricardo Mathews will see an increased role. The 6-3, 294-pound Mathews is versatile and has decent triangle numbers, but is likely to struggle early on – he has dressed once in the club’s first six games, and Pro Football Weekly hears that veteran DE Keyunta Dawson also will see more work by sliding inside
