The NFL has fined Indianapolis Colts’ middle linebacker, Gary Brackett, for his hit on the Tennessee Titans’ long-snapper in the team’s 23-20 victory. Brackett was fined for the amount of $35,000.
After Rob Bironas badly missed a field goal, which was a 61-yarder, Antoine Bethea returned but Brackett did a vicious hit that it knocked the Titans’ play unconscious. Bethea was gassed out at the ten yard line or so but even if he scored, it wouldn’t count due to Brackett’s hit, which was also a penalty.
This is the third fine for Brackett this season.
Brackett had this to say about the hit: “I don’t think it was malicious at all. I think it was just a football play, and I still think I hit him with my shoulder first and the head was secondary.”
