Manning Has Yet to Throw Since Neck Surgery

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning still is not throwing following neck surgery, Phil Richards of the Indianapolis Star notes.

Information about the Colts’ player-run workouts has been scarce, but not throwing a football in June, three weeks removed from a procedure to repair nerve damage in his neck, shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Perhaps the more noteworthy nugget from Richards’ report was that Manning was not carrying a tray for teammate Gary Brackett’s Celebrity Servers Night at Morton’s Steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis last week.

Manning may not be throwing, but he’s still rallying players to workouts and serving as a coach.

“Any time Peyton says it’s time to throw, you’re there with Peyton and Curtis (Painter),” Colts running back Devin Moore said. “He’s more of a coach type of guy.”
