Cotls Ink LB Jerrell Freeman to a Futures Contract

The Colts announced that they have signed free agent linebacker Jerrell Freeman to a “Reserve/Futures” contract.

Terms were not disclosed.

The 6-foot, 234-pound linebacker has spent the last three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Freeman recorded 144 tackles, 13 quarterback sacks and three interceptions, including 105 stops, six quarterback sacks and all three of his interception during an All-Star season in 2011.

Freeman had a brief stint with the Tennessee Titans before heading north and began exploring NFL opportunities in late December. Freeman worked out for the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Titans, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before working out for the Colts on January 9.
