Luck Is In – Colts and First Overall Pick Agree on a Four-Year Deal

Colts owner Jim Irsay has been saying for weeks the club is close to an agreement with first overall draft pick Andrew Luck. It now looks like Irsay has got his man under contract.

According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, the Colts have signed top overall draft pick Andrew Luck to a four-year deal.

Irsay said Wednesday, ““He’ll be in camp, there is no question that he’ll be signed in time. We’ll be talking this week, and we are talking, and there’s no question that he’ll be signed for the beginning of training camp and ready to go. No doubt about it. We’ve been close, and I think we’ll be able to accomplish the final couple details, and it’s going to get done. No doubt about it.”

Was just a matter of time before he signed. Completely thankful of the rookie wage scale as it should allow for an accelerated rebuilding effort rather than having to drop 50-60 million on Luck out of the gate.
