Ahmad Bradshaw missed practice on Wednesday as he’s dealing with a neck injury. Bradshaw went down to 1 knee in the middle of last Sunday’s game. Later, trainers were seen working on his neck on the sidelines. I have no details on the injury, but you certainly hope he can play on Sunday. Losing Bradshaw would be very, very bad for a team with a new running back. Yes, we still have Donald Brown, but…..
The Colts made some roster moves yesterday. They released WR Danny Coale and RB Miguel Masonet from the practice squad and moved Da’Rick Rogers and Kerwynn Williams from the active roster to the practice squad. I had high hopes for Rogers (and still do), but he was “brought up” in case T.Y. Hilton or Darius Heyward-Bey were unable to play last week due to injury. Perhaps Rogers demotion is also a sign that David Reed will be ready to play this week. The 2 open roster spots were filled with the Colts signing of our old friend, DE Lawrence Guy and offensive tackle Xavier Nixon. We know Guy – he is a capable NFL player. Xavier Nixon was once thought to be an NFL “sure thing” at left tackle. He played at Florida and performed well, but went undrafted in the 2013 draft. Washington signed him as an undrafted free agent and he was later added to the Redskins practice squad. The Colts claimed Nixon and are trying to catch lightning in a bottle. It will be interesting to see how much (if any) time he gets in the upcoming weeks.
This is the last week of suspension for LaVon Brazil. It will be interesting to see how the Colts work him back into their offense. While we have very talented receivers (Reggie, T.Y., DHB), we are not very deep. Brazil will help. He just has to stay clean.
