Colts Lose Starting Right Guard Joe Reitz to an Ankle Injury

Colts starting right guard Joe Reitz was carted off the field with an injured ankle in the second half against the Browns on Sunday.

Reitz started Sunday in place of injured guard Hugh Thornton.

The guard was hurt on a running play in the third quarter and then taken to the locker room for further evaluation and X-rays. As he lay on the ground, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck came over to console Reitz, who is in his fourth season from Western Michigan.

Reitz is the second Colts lineman to go down. Earlier, rookie center Jonotthan Harrison left with a neck injury and didn’t return.

  1. Jim says:

What is really needed is a collective bargaining agreement that only allows these guys to show up an hour prior to game time. That way they can rest, work part-time, party or whatever the hell else they want to do – with minimum conditioning and practice. Oh by the way, they will still get paid millions of dollars.
