Colts linebacker Jonathan Newsome was arrested Wednesday morning on two counts of marijuana possession in Boone County, Indiana according to Matt Adams of the Indianapolis Star.
Newsome was taken into custody around 2 AM early Wednesday morning when police arrived at his apartment due to a noise complaint. He was booked for possession after police found marijuana in the dwelling.
While the charges are not a major concern, the arrest will probably land Newsome in the NFL drug program and subject him to more frequent drug tests. Newsome was also arrested for marijuana possession during his college years at Ball State.
Newsome lead the Colts in sacks in his rookie year in 2014 with 6.5 but had only one in 2015, when he played sparingly and missed two games with a hamstring issue.
