The Colts put inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera on waivers Wednesday, the former sixth-round pick of 2015 who spent most of last year on the practice squad.
Herrera played in only three games, with one tackle on special teams, and had not stood out during training camp at Anderson University.
With injuries depleting the Colts’ depth along the defensive line and at safety, Herrera was released.
Indy also put running back Abou Toure on the waived-injured list and he will wind up on injured reserve if he clears waivers.
The Colts have not yet signed any players to replace Herrera and Toure on the 90-man roster.
