Luck in Concussion Protocol; Likely Won’t Be Able to Go Thursday Vs Steelers

Andrew Luck

The Colts are coming off a big win Sunday against the Titans, but may pay a big price for it, as today it was announced that franchise quarterback Andrew Luck is in concussion protocol, and it’s very much up in the air if he’ll play or not on Thanksgiving against the Steelers.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said Luck began experiencing symptoms at a later time and was diagnosed after the team got the victory.

The coach said the injury took place at some point in the fourth quarter of the win.

As of now the Colts are planning on 29-year-old backup QB Scott Tolzien starting against the Steelers, a team that has beaten the Colts by a combined 96-44 in their last two matchups.

Tolzien has just two NFL starts in his career, and beyond throwing one pass last season for Green Bay, Tolzien hasn’t seen regular-season action since 2013.

Getting Luck ready for Thursday is a longshot at best at this point.
