LB Brackett and Safety Bullitt Both Land on IR

The Colts have placed linebacker Gary Brackett and safety Melvin Bullitt on injured reserve, owner Jim Irsay announced on Twitter. Brackett, 31, has missed the last two weeks with a shoulder injury and may have played his final game in a Colts uniform. The veteran middle linebacker is due to earn $5 million in base […]

Free agent safety Melvin Bullitt has agreed to terms on a multi-year deal that will keep him with the Colts, Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reports. Exact terms were not disclosed. OT Johnson and Safety Bullitt Both Want to Stay with the Colts

Whenever the NFL and NFL Players Association agree on a new collective bargaining, players with four or more accrued seasons who do not have a signed contract are expected to become unrestricted free agents. Two such players — offensive tackle Charlie Johnson and safety Melvin Bullitt — will be able to test the market, but […]

What Should Indianapolis Do with Bob Sanders?

The off-season has now begun and the Indianapolis Colts need to know what they should do with strong-safety, Bob Sanders. Sanders hasn’t played really much at all in the past three seasons. I don’t even think he’s hit the double-digit game mark, or even played five games yet. Sanders is injury-prone and we’re starting to […]

Colts should look at safety Lewis

Michael Lewis would be a solid replacement for the injured Melvin Bullitt. After not accompanying his team on the trip to Atlanta this past Sunday, Michael Lewis was released by the 49ers on Monday.  Now it’s Tuesday, and he’s looking for work; fortunately for him, he may be in high demand.  The Colts just lost […]

Colts lose Safety Bullitt to a broken shoulder for the year

Bob Sanders is out, and now his replacement is out as well. ESPN is reporting that Melvin Bullitt is out for the season after breaking a bone in his shoulder, another blow for a defense that has struggled in parts of four games already in 2010. Colts safety Melvin Bullitt, Bob Sanders’ replacement and the […]

Colts Captains Named

All of the 32 NFL teams name captains just prior to the regular season; the Indianapolis Colts are no different in that regard. The team on Thursday named Peyton Manning (no surprise there) a captain on offense, Gary Brackett on defense, and Adam Vinatieri and Melvin Bullitt on special teams. This would be Manning’s eighth […]

Defense To Make Or Break Colts This Season?

By and large, the Indianapolis Colts have been an high-octane offensive team, with a bend-but-not-break defense. But with some astute signings on the defensive side of the ball (Gary Brackett, Antoine Bethea, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis and a finally healthy Bob Sanders) totalling in the neighborhood of $242 million since 2006, the Colts should finally […]
