Who would have ever thought the Colts would be sitting at the halfway point of the season staring at the cusp of the NFL playoffs?
With rookie QB Andrew Luck and the inspiration of coach Chuck Pagano leading the way, the Colts are 5-3, and surprising everyone in the NFL, the latest win last week vs the Dolphins at home 23-20.
That doesn’t mean they will overlook the Jags Thursday, as a 22-17 loss to to the Jags on Sept. 23 was the last time the Colts had to swallow a defeat. Since they they have won four in a row.
After beating Miami, the Colts got an emotional and inspiring postgame speech from Pagano, whose leukemia has gone into remission. It was Pagano’s first visit to Lucas Oil Stadium since being diagnosed with the disease Sept. 26.
“His presence is felt every day in the facility,” Luck said. “But to see him in the flesh, in the locker room, to hear him speak I think gave all the guys a boost.”
